    While I don't think that's an issue, I would ask ZAC. I would also see if scrubbing with scotch-brite removes the discoloration.     Subject: Aluminum Sheet Discoloration
    this is most likely a thin film of aluminum oxide and a very mild acid (lik e vinegar and cream of tartar mixture NOT muriatic etc.) should help remove the stain. Polishing may be necessary afterwards. (I have a BS in chemistr y) ALCLAD plates have a thin coating of pure aluminum pressed into the surface and is a slight oxide is supposed to form to protect the alloy underneath but other alloys do not have this pure aluminum coating so the other metals in the alloy are exposed and can oxidize and cause staining.
