Subject: | Re: 701 Flying Qualities - Turbulence |
Hi, I spent the previous 600 hrs flying a C150a and would say the ride in turbulence
is similar, allowing for scale of difference in weight and stall speeds.
I would not attempt or enjoy operating the 701 in the exact same conditions of
wind that the heavier aircraft are OK in, and there were many days when the Cessna
was too small for the conditions prevailing. Both being high wing aircraft,
the degree of difficulty taxying is a good indication of whether its better
to stay in the hangar. Usually enjoy the flight better in sunny calm days, anyway.

Does anyone have photos or specs on the CH-750?
Any hints on kit availability timeframe?
With the extended wing I heard about, it seems similar to the ICP Savanna
knockoff.

Kit's should be show cased at the upcoming Oshkosh show. We are being
lead to believe that the plans will also be offered, but no one knows
for sure. Attached are the only two known photos of the plane taken at
the Zenith plant.

Hi all,
We were going camping, but there are 40mph winds and thunder storms all week end,
so I had the afternoon off by my self!. Amy took the girls shopping. So anyway
I just received the Canyon Surfing DVD. It is very good. I like the secondary
, raw footage and the section that he shows stalls and cruise ect... Well
worth the money!

Does anyone have any advice on, or photos of installing the top Lexan window
(7F19-1)? The plans are pretty light in this area and I don't see anything
in the photo guide.
The plans indicate that the Lexan is just riveted to the cabin frame. Will
it crack? What about the rivets through the top longeron gusset 7F3-3SP
(what does the "SP" suffix mean anyway?). Do those rivets pass through the
Lexan and the gusset (unlikely) or does the window just rest on top of the
rivets in this area?

Subject: | Re: CH801 fuel header tank |
Jeff,
I just started working on my 801 a couple months ago and so I'm quite a ways away
from the fuel system - but I've thought of a header tank as well. Would you
mind sharing your current plans for your fuel system? Are you going with standard
or extended range tanks? Are you going to use the fuel lines that came
with your kit or something else? Fuel return lines? If you did use a header
tank, where would you locate the tank?
Just curious...

Ben

I'm not that far, but lexan will not crack. Acrylic will crack when most inconvenient
to you however.. They are not the same.....FYI.

Craig,
According to drawing 7-G-2, suffix "SP" designates new parts or modified parts
to comply with the 1100lb. gross weight increase.

Craig:
You are having the same problem I had for about two months. I was so
confused about the two different door instructions they were talking
about I finally called Caleb at Zenair. I have the all lexan door (a
third type door) and I found there were no plans for that door. If
you have the same one, call me and I think I can explain what to do as
we did about 90% of the pilot side door today.
If you have the door with the metal bottom I can explain which plans
you have to follow.
Your questions: The Lexan will not crack. I used a 3/32" bit first
and then expanded it to 3/16" with a bit designed for plexiglass
work. Try it on a piece of scrap first. I used the scrap from what I
had to cut off the top of the door.
If you have more questions send me a message at <challgren@mac.com>
and I will respond.
