It's great that we now have "our own" list for STOL Zeniths, but let's also keep it easier to read by sticking to Mat's simple rules--and in particular this one: "- When responding, NEVER quote the *entire* original post in your response. DO use lines from the original post to help "tune in" the reader to the topic at hand, but be selective. The impact that quoting the entire original post has on the size of the archive can not be overstated! " Yesterday we had two posts that repeated the entire day's digest. Just think of how many people got "scroll finger fatigue." Do not archive Rich Hartwig

From: "Ashcraft, Keith - AES" <Keith.Ashcraft@itt.com>
701 builders, Quick question, What is the length along the front of part 7F9-1 to the int ersection of 7F9-7 (front upright)? Can some of you scratch builders that have already been past this, or kit b uilders that have a side to measure help me out. Here is my problem. On page 7F9, the plans show 7F9-7 intersects/meets 7F9- 8 at 280mm from the front of the cabin side (center of the page drawing) If I place 7F9-7 at that point, the top edge doesn't line up with the edge of the cabin side, (between the two R47 radius curves) If I use 7F9-4 length of 132mm, then 7F9-7 intersects/meets 7F9-8 at 288mm, or if I use the length of both 7F9-4 and 7F9-5, then 7F9-7 intersects/meet s 7F9-8 around 868mm. Hope this is making sense. I guess, another way of measuring might be, if somebody has a kit-built cab in side, how far out the front of the cabin side, and up from the bottom, t o the end of a 730mm-7F9-7? Just went and measured mine (plans built) the F9-7 intersects at 284-5 and is flush with the side between 47 radius curves. The top of 7F9-7 dies onto the .040 cabin side doubler 7F14-6SP and is not critical to assembly (wiggle room) except maybe when the cabin frame 7F18-1SP butts down to it, I think I had to trim the bottom of the frame tubes a little when I fit it. Do you have your cabin cage built? Roy & Stan, Those measurements are about where I am ending up at. and... No sir Roy, I do not have my cabin cage built. I am thinking about ordering 4130-welded p arts from Zenith. I just wasn't sure how much room I had at the firewall en d to wiggle. Stan's measurements where also what I was coming up with, but things just didn't seem to be working out. Thanks again, Keith *************************************************************************** *** -----Original Message----- From: owner-zenith701801-list-server@matronics.com on behalf of Roy Szarafi nski Sent: Sat 9/13/2008 12:38 PM Subject: Re: Zenith701801-List: 701 Cabin side measurement m> Just went and measured mine (plans built) the F9-7 intersects at 284-5 and is flush with the side between 47 radius curves.
