Bob >From my perspective the question is do you enjoy building airplanes or flying more? I enjoyed building my plane but I really enjoy flying! I suspect more kits are finished just because they are a lot less work. Bill Wilcox N801BW Valdez, AK 405 hrs A couple more hunting trips before I put in the preservation oil for the winter.

Subject: Zenith701801-List: "Prestart warm up question" I live in Dayton Ohio where a warm up is required in the winter months. I purchased a small construction heater, the type that uses kerosene as fuel and has a forced air burner that sounds like a small jet engine. I fabricated a flange with an adjustable air space that transitions the heater output to a flexible aluminum hose that I direct upwards around the muffler and cowl opening. I open the oil door to provide an air path for the heat to flow up and out. I have found that this system works well and heats the engine quickly even on a really cold day. It's also great to warm up the pilot while waiting.. Bob Kissell N701UB

    From: "Geoff Heap" <stol10@comcast.net>
There are two, 6 position contact plugs at the electrical module on top of the engine. Each one has the 6th terminal empty, ready to take the grounding wire from the Magneto to the ignition start switch for shutting down the engine. I have the terminals for the wires to connect into these two empty terminals. My question is this. Do the 6 position plugs need to be removed from the electric module before inserting my wires. Or can the wires simply inserted into the holes while the plug is still connected to the module. I have inserted a terminal into the hole as a test and it will pull back out fairly easily which suggests to me that this is incorrect. i have tried to remove the plug from the module so that I can hook it up more easily but I find it impossible to remove. Ive never seen it separated so I'm not sure where the split line is. Can someone advise, Thanks......Geoff Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p 9548#209548

[Crying or Very sad] After some checking with Revmaster, the Great Plains and the Valley Engineering does not fit, because the Revmaster has a 4 bearing crank unlike the stock 3 bearing crank of the VW. The lower pulley would have to be designed different. Maybe Revmaster will come up with a Redrive. -------- Dwight Early Kitfox 1/532 Zenith CH701/Revmaster Daleville, In Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p 9580#209580

You might want to consider a planetary re drive from Marvin Currie. Of course you have to turn your engine around. It bolts to the flywheel end. I really like mine. If you are interested, e-mail me and I will put you in contact. It cost less too.
