From: "domkat" Hello I 'm interested to buy a 701 , already built (airframe & wings) but not finished. a picture of it is attached. it's a kit aged about 10 / 12 years (I think so ?) and my question is : are there important aerodynamics changes with the new 701 models ? will that change something with its performance ? thank you ! dominique Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=213467#213467 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/zpercente9nairpercent20chpercent20701percent20percente0percent20finir1_103.jpg ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 01:34:53 AM PST US Subject: Zenith701801-List: Re: 701 : difference between "old" & new model ? From: "jetboy" I dont think there is any aerodynamic changes from the earlier model, the max. weight is limited to 960 lbs and there are more restrictions on engine type and weight. The rev-4 plans had a lot of changes to the wing spars and attach points to enable a weight increase to 1100 lbs so the more favoured engines like 912S could be used more fully. Flap travel is now restricted to 16 deg as the heavier models dont need as much. There are lots of the lighter ones flying well on the 80hp Rotax or less, so it will come down to what mission you have, how much stuff you need to install and what the crew weights are. I understood that to be the bearing he was talking about. The Nose Wheel bearing is a ball bearing. I think he said "nose wheel strut" bearing. -------- Brady McCormick Poulsbo, WA www.magnificentmachine.com Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=213577#213577 ________________________________ Message 13 ____________________________________ Time: 05:25:56 PM PST US Subject: Zenith701801-List: Re: CH701 nose wheel bearing From: "gus" yes a nylon block , thats what I have seen. My drawings are dated 09/01. Do the block specs include the "gear extended self centering ramps? Are drawings available for the nylon version? Thanks for the help. Basically add nylon plates with V notches inside and parallel to the aluminum angle. -- Craig -----Original Message----- From: owner-zenith701801-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-zenith701801-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of gus Sent: Tuesday, November 11, 2008 1:47 PM Subject: Zenith701801-List: Re: CH701 nose wheel bearing I am interested in learning what others have done with the metal to metal contact.
