Although the prices have come down a little because of the devalue of the euro, what or where is the best price / place you have found? Purchase a ROTAX 912uls 100hp engine with hd starter & slipper clutch in December & pay only $17648.00 . I think it is as good as the Rotax and about $5000 cheaper. I hav e flown the 701 with the Jabiru and I can't tell a lot of difference in the flignt chararcteristics. I think it is a simpler _________________________________________________________________ Send e-mail faster without improving your typing skills. http://windowslive.com/online/hotmail?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_hotmail_acq_speed _122008 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 02:09:22 PM PST US From: "John Marzulli" Subject: Zenith701801-List: Question: 7C1-5 hole placement and trimming. ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 04:16:27 PM PST US From: "John Marzulli" Subject: Zenith701801-List: Question: 7C1-5 hole placement and trimming. The plans seem pretty vague on page 7C1. I was wondering how other people have placed the rivet holes in 7C1-5 and trimmed the piece. First I guessed that to angle the piece that 30mm in on the sides seemed right with the holes 10mm in from each side. Further interpolation made me place the two holes 30mm out from the center. The big question is this: Are the four holes placed 10mm in from the edges? Does this seem right? Seems it was a little less expensive. My second was bought used from a fellow who was parting out his plane. I don't have exact dimensions but I've attached pictures from three different sources. P1 and P2 are from the Zenith photo guide, P3 is of my plane and P4 is of George Race's. My next burning decision is if I should mount my landing/taxi lights in the slat or cowl . I like the new LED "pucks" which are suppose to be vibration resistant, small and low power draw. I was wondering if anyone with the new style cowl installed on the their 701 could advise if there is sufficient room to instal 3" diameter by 1" deep LED lights in the nose of the cowl on either side of the center line. Seen pics with the old style cowl but not with the new slimmer cowl.
