Thanks Tommy, I guess I never thought of checking with ZAC. I'll make some calls
on Monday.
PS, Flight Crafters in FL has a used 914 for sale. I think he is asking 20k (cost
close to 30k new)

I have not built that part yet, but from the way its drawn I'd say that the outboard
rivets are a good safe edge distance in, with respect to 1C7-5 and the inboard
ones are 30mm in and the same good safe edge distance from the edge for
both 1C7-5 and 1C 7-4.

Vic,
I was asking the same question a few weeks back. Here are some links to
some pictures of what I did:

http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee150/charlievictor102/100_2984.jpg

The wing is upside down on my bench.
I used the guts from a PIAA P.N. 2112 driving light. I broke the glass
lenses out and pretty much only used the reflector and light fixture. It's
mounted on a bracket so I can tilt it up and down. I will cut a slot in the
skin if I need to move left or right. I have no idea if the angle is even
close.

I had some trouble shaping the polycarbonate cover using a heat gun. So I
made the jig shown below, clecoed the plastic sheet to it, and then baked it
for about 1/2 hour at 325 degrees F (while wife was at work). The plastic
drooped down over the jig pretty well.

I talked to someone that was using an LED light and they said that the beam
was not narrow enough.

Thanx to all who provided ideas and advice on the flush mount fuel caps.
My next burning decision is if I should mount my landing/taxi lights
in the slat or cowl . I like the new LED "pucks" which are suppose
to be vibration resistant, small and low power draw.
I was wondering if anyone with the new style cowl installed on the
their 701 could advise if there is sufficient room to instal 3"
diameter by 1" deep LED lights in the nose of the cowl on either
side of the center line. Seen pics with the old style cowl but not
with the new slimmer cowl.
Thanx Vic
