Hi Curt,
The only response I have is I know of a couple of people that have built the fill
tank and have not experienced a CG issue. It only adds about two gallons per
wing at 6LB a gallon for a total of 24lbs. It's location is right at the transition
from the pilot to the baggage area. I would think a heavy pilot would
be about the same.

I was just looking at a drawing of the ribs, at first glance it looks as though
the tank ends about where the bottom of the ribs turn up? So maybe it is just
to avoid a more complicated tank form/design? I'll have to at it better when
I get home.

I'm going against the norm and do mine with single diagonal braces of a
square truss like is shown in the following link:

I'm going to use .016" AL with about 50mm rivet spacing. I will try to tie
them into the corners.

Have decided to follow the norm and go with the X bracing . I can see the
advantage to tying the top and bottom longerons together on the diagonal and
the four smaller triangles between the Ls should be stronger.

THE ch750 seems to have the flaperons mounted above a modified bracket
closer to the wing,
does any one know
has this been to any advantage in cruise speed? authority?
Is it worth building into a 701? (a speed increase would make it
worth it)

Curt, this is basically what I have done but am a little concerned about the oil
cannieness just aft of the baggage area that this has left me with.
The rest of the bays aft of the largest one seem nice and tight with only the one
diagnal stiffener in each.
Take this all with a grain of salt though as I am not finished building yet.

All,
I seem to remember that Les Goldner used wood molding, glued to the inside running
horizontal. He does monitor the list (when he isn't out flying) maybe he can
join in and tell about his experience!!
Are you there Les?

John,
I'm going to do the top and bottom too. I'm going to arrange them like the
square truss picture I linked to earlier.

Hi Curt;
I made diagonal braces from standard "L" as they are on the
factory 701. The rearmost diagonal was my starting point, it goes from bottom
skin at the rear to upper skin toward the front. The next brace started at the
top skin and so on. I tied them into the corners near the vertical "L", I used
A4 rivets at the standard rivet spacing of 40 mm. If you look on the Zenith
web site they are visible. I have flown the factory 701 and did not hear any
oil canning.

Hi Graem;
I think what you are seeing is somewhat of an optical
illusion. I had a good look at the 750 prototype in the Mexico factory The
flaperons on the 750 are the essentially the same spacing below the trailing edge
of
the wing as on the 701. What is different is the flaperon support bracket, it
is quite a lot longer than on the 701 and attaches further forward in the
wing without the fussy brackets that the 701 has.

Yes I saw the longer brackets and that is what triggered me to look at
the flaperon.
And it does Loook Closer.
I like the windows at rear in the CH750 but was mainly considering a
luggage door on one side.
Buy the looks of it there would be no reason you couldn't frame up a
door and skin it with light pesprex!
