I had a good look at the 750 prototype in the Mexico factory The flaperons on the 750 are the essentially the same spacing below the trailing edge of the wing as on the 701. What is different is the flaperon support bracket, it is quite a lot longer than on the 701 and attaches further forward in the wing without the fussy brackets that the 701 has. > > John Read > CH701 - Elbert CO - Jabiru 3300 > > Phone: 303-648-3261 > Fax: 303-648-3262 > Cell: 719-494-4567 > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Stay up-to-da news - from fashion trends to celebrity break-ups and everything in between. > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > > Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com > 12/9/2008 9:59 AM > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com >

Thanks for the feedback John. The diagonals are going in different directions on the factory CH701 than they are in the CH750. At least that is what I observed at Oshkosh. I didn't ask why. Hi Curt; I made diagonal braces from standard "L" as they are on the factory 701. The rearmost diagonal was my starting point, it goes from bottom skin at the rear to upper skin toward the front. The next brace started at the top skin and so on. I tied them into the corners near the vertical "L", I used A4 rivets at the standard rivet spacing of 40 mm. If you look on the Zenith web site they are visible. I have flown the factory 701 and did not hear any oil canning. Good thread on stiffeners. Can anyone advise how to tie in wing stiffeners to the front and rear spars and allow for removal and installation of skins during construction and later for maintenance. Cheers Cpt Vic 701 C-GCPT (res) Whitehorse Yukon tail done wings almost done (once I figure out stiffeners)
