I was looking at my picks of wing stiffeners and realized that I had this pic,
it sounds like what your describing for a 42.5 L or 11.2gal tank?

I just got an email from Shirley at Zenith yesterday. I had emailed as a last attempt
as I was under the impression that they did not sell the raw .093 angle.
It is a little pricey and it must be truck shipped because of the 10+ft length
for the spars but it is available from them and you don't need that much.
"Kevin,
You can purchase the 3/4x3/4x.093 ext angle for $3.80 ft. If we ship in 12
foot lengths it would ship by truck freight."

I used .125 and purchased it from the local Pacific Steel. They had it in
stock and it was about $100.00 for two 25 foot lengths. That was in July of
2008. Dan.

Yes Kevin, similar although your pic shows 2 outlets and a curved upper panel
probably more capacity and advantage for fuel flow when in sustained nose down
ops.

I know that you can use .125 stock, but I am trying to save weight due to the heavy
engine I will be using. So 3-5 lbs is worth a little extra $ .
do not archive

Subject: | Re: Wing stiffeners |
Vic:
I put stiffeners between the ribs on my 701 wings, but did not tie them into the
front spar and rear channel. Just set their length so they went up to the edge,
and started riveting them 10 mm in from the end. Came out pretty good;
there was no loss of "stiffening" effect.
Since the skin doesn't flex and roll very well once the stiffeners are cleco'd
to it, you'll want to cleco the leading edge of the skin to the spar without the
stiffeners attached, then reach underneath the skin to position the stiffeners
in place.
Hope that makes sense.

Greetings Listers,=0A=0AIt's been a very long time-in the works-but-t
he day has finally arrived.--We've taken the plunge and purchased an 80
1 tail kit!- We bought it though Flight Crafters and we're having it deli
vered to their facilities down in Zephrhills Florida.- We're scheduled to
build the rudder there on the 13th and 14th of February-at their builder
assist facility.--My wife and I are going down there-together and-
we're pretty excited.- =0A=0AI could not-believe how expensive-shippi
ng-was from Ontario to Florida.- $475 not including crating.- What's
sad is that if we had bought it 4 months ago we could have picked it up our
selves before-we moved south.- We lived within driving distance-at th
e time but we thought the 801s were built in Mexico MO so it wouldn't have
mattered much.- Oh well.- Just the first of many frustrations I'm sure.
