Thanks for the replies--I presume that there's no trouble with heavy snow loads (permanently) deforming the .016 skin between ribs then. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=225973#225973

do not archive Highway roadmaps have been published for well over a century, yet there are still people living in areas where they must worry about the effects of snow. C'mon, guys.......move south! We only worry about tornadoes, hurricanes, coyotes chasing the pet cat, wild hogs getting in the garden, but NEVER about SNOW. Have a really great day, Zed at XS30, Hangar 1, north end

I've seen it snow down in Austin, shut down the entire city. I've driven through Dallas during one of their rare snow storms, humorous to say the least. Currently preparing to fire up the plow truck to clear the driveway, a caricature building exercise at its finest, and pondering wheel skis and industrial cabin heat. I did check out one of them maps and its true what you say, but I'm afraid of all the free time I'd have. No, wait, how much time do you spend eradicating fire ants? Time wise it might be a wash. My best, keep at it Zed, maybe we will finish our projects about at the same time. Ok, here is my version of the old style door. Maybe ugly but I don't like the totally clear bottom on the bubble ones, And this could allow for a sliding window and an elbow rest. Zed, I'm about as far south as I can go in my country, I have a 5 foot high snowbank in front of my house, I think I need to be concerned about snow loads.
