Thanks, I hadn't thought of that one! It just has to clear the door anyway, as
the inside is tall enough.

Subject: | 701's to Oshkosh |
Les Goldner recently asked:
"I am starting to plan a flight from the San Francisco Bay area to
AirVenture this summer, with a group of faster aircraft, leaving from
Santa Rosa CA. Never having done this before, I have some questions
that some of you will be able to answer:
=B7 About how many Zenith CH 701s flew to Oshkosh last year?
=B7 Is there a special parking area where 701s congregate?
=B7 If you ever flew to Oshkosh in a 701 from the West or North
West, can you suggest routes and daily travel schedules and are there
good places along this route to camp-out or are motels the better
option?
=B7 Does the factory offer any amenities to Zenith fly-ins?"
Les-Several years ago I flew to OSH in my 601 and spent the next to
last night in Mexico, Mo. I then flew up to OSH with the factory
aircraft and a few others who had gathered there. It was nice having
a bunch of experts to follow on the great adventure of my first OSH
approach and landing. It also got me a prime parking spot in the first
row in front of the tower.
