Brady, Thank you for the offer. But mine has a reduction drive and I doubt that it would fit. Real nice looking job though. Do not archive -------- Dan Stanton 801 125 hrs. 701 80% done Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=234020#234020

In their operations manual the change is listed under _6.6 User setting_ "Automatic voice operation control gain for intercom". There are four settings, HI, MID1, MID2 or LO. My radio came with a HI setting and I changed it to LO which seems to work fine. However, I have just started using this transceiver so I am far from being an expert. I carry my hand held radio as a backup. Dan Wilde N948DW

Interesting reading Keith, You need to read the source of the concerns to understand the nature of the rules being put in place. Go to http://www.tsa.gov/assets/pdf/ASAC_Working_Group_11-2003.pdf to read the document that speaks to the 12,500 lb aircraft and all others that will be drawn into this TSA wish list. There are several airports that will have to simply shut down if compliance becomes necessary. I'd prefer to fly out of an unencumbered airfield even if it means driving another 30 miles. Our group is thinking along the lines of enlarging and investing in our own private strip. It's certainly worth a read though. Sounds to me like empire building as the more people you cover and the more money you gain control over, the higher your pay grade. Thank you everyone for the advice. In the end I decided to just have it shipped. I was kind of looking forward to the whole trip going there and back, but in the end, I would rather be spending my vacation building rather then driving.
