Damien,
I had the same problem. When I bought my kit it was about five numbers
away from the new SP kit. So I had the new plans but the old kit. I
made as many changes as possible but didn't change the spars.
I just had my 701 inspected on Tuesday by the FAA and made the first
flight on Friday morning. I listed my gross weight as 1100 lbs. with a
G rating as +3.5 and -1.7. This is the same load factor as 960 lbs. and
the factory approved +4 and -2 G's.

Thanks for the responses.
I am looking at a 701 that has the 960 spar. It has many of the 1100
updates, but it was too late to change the spar. I am not a builder, but
I guess that it might be difficult in this case to know exactly what the
actual gross weight would be.

Hey Mark,
Congratulations!!!!!!!
Let us know some numbers when you get a chance!!!
(hint: run it up to 10,500' and tell me what the performance is )
(that is where I will be doing 90% of my flying when I get done)
