The skins are pre punched and I have lined up the lower rivets with the centerline of the lower spar cap as stated in the instructions. My problem is that when I pull the top of the skin down to the spar the pre-punched holes give me an edge distance of only about one hole diameter. I am not making any attempt to pull the nose skin tight against the nose ribs, but the trailing edge of the top skin still overlaps the bottom by a little more than 1mm. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. The only solution I can see is to clamp the trailing edges flush with each other and drill/cleco them first--then tie the skin down flat against the ribs and drill/cleco the spar line. Any thoughts? Here are all my notes from the Flaperon build process: http://701builder.blogspot.com/search/label/flaperons Good luck!
