    Subject: 701 Fuel cap
Since the recent discussion about fuel caps, I looked at my plans and it does say to open up the 1/16 inch vent hole to 1/8 inch. Has anyone done this and would you explain the procedure? Also while looking at fuel caps, I see Aircraft Spruce has a vented cap (05-03459) with a hole drilled on the outside (I assume the hole faces forward for ram pressure) that looks very similar to ours. Has anyone modified their cap in this way or is there a problem with doing this? Thanks Mike Hoffman

Mike, I did mine, just drilled through the inside layer of the cap only. Make sure any metal shards are completely cleaned out. This extra hole could have also added to the porting of fuel over the wing. I replaced them with the pitot tube type caps and do not port any more fuel over the wing. Those ACS vented caps might also work. Bob Spudis N701ZX In a message dated 6/24/2009 5:42:54 A.M. Folks I have 2 throttle controls for sale. Each has been shortened to 18 1/4" housing length. The wire is about 3" longer. This is the length that was correct for my per plans ZAC throttle torque tube setup, for the pilot's side.. Both are slightly used. Both came from ACS. ACS p/n A820BL0960 friction lock. list 46 bucks. Shipped for $30 to the lower 48. ACS p/n A790100360 Vernier control. list 52 shipped to the lower 48 for $35. Trying to help fight the depression here. email me off list. thanks Joe
