Another Zenith 701 takes flight down under in Australia.
The scratch built plane took to the skies and completed a few circuits of the field
today.

Beautifully done 701, your cowling is very interesting also. As a scratch built
aircraft did you make the cowling and what kind of engine did you go with?

Subject: | Re: Rudder cable tension. |
you will find that as you tighten the elevator cables tight to too tight you will
get binding and resistance from full right aileron, needs to be set to best
feel kind of setting with the bungie installed to stop cables chafing together..
i had some severe yaw issues with my rudder as purchased from the builder.
turned out to have the lower piece missing in the rudder which caused deformation
of the front half skin and spar. in some conditions the rudder was searching
to full stops from side to side. new rudder installed and also put tension
springs along the cables at the rudder peddles. stopped the yaw / wondering
. there are also some posts here of some spring mods and variations to the nose
wheel steering rods. to give more tension and feel to the rudder.
