Subject: | November List Fund Raiser |
A couple of years ago I implemented an automatic "squelch button" of sorts for
the Fund Raiser messages. Here's how it works... As soon as a List member makes
a Contribution through the Matronics Fund Raiser web site, he or she will
instantly cease to receive these Fund Raiser messages for the rest of the month!
Its just that simple. Don't you wish PBS worked that way! :-)
I really do appreciate each and every one of your individual Contributions to support
the Lists. It is your support that enables me to upgrade the hardware
and software that are required to run a List Site such as this one. It also goes
to pay for the commercial-grade Internet connection and to pay the huge electric
bill to keep the computer gear running and the air conditioner powered
on. I run all of the Matronics Email List and Forums sites here locally which
allows me to control and monitor every aspect of the system for the utmost in
reliably and performance.
Your personal Contribution matters because, when combined with other Listers such
as yourself, it pays the bills to keep this site up and running. I accept
exactly ZERO advertising dollars for the Matronics Lists sites. I can't stand
the pop-up ads and all other commercials that are so prevalent on the Internet
these days and I particularly don't want to have it on my Email List sites.
If you appreciate the ad-free, grass-roots, down-home feel of the Matronics Email
Lists, please make a Contribution to keep it that way!!

Thank you!

public access methods, there is no simple way to filter them.]

Subject: | Should we combine the 701,801 and 750 list??????? |
As a Builder and flyer of 701s I enjoy reading anything about my type aircraft
and anything about similar aircraft, like the 801 and 750. I'm also always interested
in any idea I can incorporate it into my aircraft to make it better, weather
they come from a 701, 750 or an 801. In my opinion I think Matt should
combine the 750 list and the 701,801list into one 701,750,801 list. I have been
watching the 750 list and it doesnt get much activity. If the two were combined
maybe activity would pick up pick up for the 750 benefitting those builders
and us all.
If any one has an opinion on this subject good or bad sound off and let us and
Matt know.

Rick,
I agree with you.
I think that 750 activity will pick up and also that all three aircraft builders
can benefit from seeing messages from each other.
Matt, pls combine the lists.
Les

Subject: | Should we combine the 701,801 and 750 list??????? |
It seems that every few months a discussion gets brought up and beat to death about
whether we should combine lists or split up lists. If it isn't broken why
are we trying to fix it? We all have the ability to monitor any of the matronics
lists so why should others have to get extra information that we don't particularly
want to read by having a combined list? Just my 2 cents worth.

I have subscribed to both lists but I don't seem to be getting emails. I
checked on the Matronics site on the subscription page and it says I am
on it, but no emails.

Have to disagree,
I very much like the 750 list in the way it is. Don't need all the traffic associated
with the 701 or 801. Most of the 750 folks are now on the Zenith Aircraft
Builders and Flyers webpage and forums.

Used DVDs notwithstanding, I can speak to buying a used kit. If the original buyer
is deceased, proceed with care. I've been dealing with the FAA for three
months with getting the registration. I bought a kit from the original owner's
estate and I've been caught in FAA limbo since August.
It ain't pretty. I thought I had all the bases covered but the FAA has rejected
my application twice because of their interpretation of what an estate is.
If I don't get this cleared up, I will have a $$$$$ pile of aluminum out at the
airport.
My advice about buying a second hand kit is don't, unless the original is still
alive.
I think I may clean this post up a bit and send it to Jon to possibly include in
one of his future Zenair Newsletters. Plus, I'm going to keep my Homebuilt
Help DVDs (my daughter is an English teacher and she told me NOT to use apostrophes
with words like CD, DVD, etc.).

I bought a partially conmpleted Starduster too from an estate. But that was
a scratch built one, not a kit. There might be some FAA legalese
differences there.
I bought my 701 from a guy who had bought it, only completed the tail at a
workshop and decided not to build. But he signed some forms making it OK.
Doggone though, there should be some way around that, Tommy! Sound silly,
especially if you are doing the lions share of the work. I'm an honest guy,
but can't you cheat and tell them its scratch built? Hah! Maybe in this
case the end justifies the means. Kidding, only partly, though.....I would
imagine you asked for help from the EAA....
