What lubricant/grease should be used to lubricate the little bearings on the ailerons, rudder... I think on the elevator also. I almost finished with my paint-job. It looks fantastic. Now I am re-assembling. I just saw on a Zodiac site that there is a re-assembly checklist for the 601. Is there such a list for the 701. Is there a drawing or list of instructions/dimensions for validating the wings after re-installation. All I see in the drawings is that a string stretched from wing-tip to wing-tip should have a certain offset from the top of the wing at the first line of rivets. Is there more. Thanks for all your help. -------- Ernest Jessee N4931M Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=272118#272118

Earnest, There are two options for this. One is to use a general lubricant, such as motor oil. The other is to replace the bearing material with an oil impregnated bronze bearing. The bearings on the surfaces you mention is 1/4 OD and 3/16 ID. I think you can find this material at places like McMaster-Carr. One of the contributors on this forum has said the he got approval from Zenith to substitute this bearing material for the supplied bearing material. Please post pictures of your airplane after the re-assembly. Good luck and do not archive my posts. Lubricant I've been using is CRC Tac-II which is a spray on compound where the propellant carries the lubricant into the bearing before evaporating off. The mechanics used a similar product Wurth2000 on Cessna aileron hinges, that traditionally were lubricated with graphite - not the best combination with aluminium parts I'd have thought Ralph -------- Ralph - CH701 / 2200a Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=272213#272213
