Could anybody provide feedback on actually using this throttle? http://www.mcfarlaneaviation.com/Details.aspx?ID=11744352&Article=199 What are the advantages? I find my current throttle (A-800 or similar number) from AS not easy to adjust and I wonder if you have found any improvements with the mcfarlane throttle. All I have seen so far is adds about the throttle but have not hear from anybody using it. Thanks, Greg N701ZG Flying Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=273311#273311

I've been using the McFarlane throttle for quite awhile now, and really like it. No complaints at all. Nice smooth action. Solved all the problems of keeping carbs balanced. Sorry I couldn't get back until now. I see all questions answered. Roberts pictures are the ones I was trying unsuccessfully to find. Greg. I had nothing but trouble with the friction lock style. The 912 carb springs are so strong that once you set the friction lock the instrument panel is so thin, on the 701, that it gives enough to raise the rpm about 300 when you let go. I changed to the veneer type, fine adjustment when you need it and full throttle is just a button push away. Good point. I put a 1.6mm doubler behind that corner of the panel. Greg, Coming from an Ultralight background, I use a quadrant type throttle on the left side just in front of the seat. I rest my hand on it comfortably, and the friction lock seems to work well. To me, it's a good alternative to a panel mounted throttle. Subject: Rotax Throttle
I think I got the first Mcfarlane 2 in 1 throttle they made for the rotax...put in the order before they had it ready to sell anyway, and waited a while for it. I have tried a bunch of throttle setups and this is the first one I have found that keeps the carbs synched. I installed it and did a mechanical sync and checked it with the oil gauge and it was the closest I have ever gotten it, smoothest it's ever been and it's stayed that way...I didn't do any further adjustments. If I remember right, it was within about 2" of oil all the way thru the rpm range that I checked. I think that's hardly readable in mercury. JG knows what it equates to, I believe. Highly recommended Joe Spencer
