Dear Listers, There are just a few more days left of this year's List Fund Raiser! Response has been very good, but still well behind last year. If you've been waiting until the last minute to make your contribution and maybe even pick up a great gift, now might be good time to show your support! Please remember that there isn't any sort of commercial advertising on the Lists and the *only* means of keeping these Lists running is through your Contributions during this Fund Raiser. Please make a Contribution today! http://www.matronics.com/contribution Thank you! Matt Dralle Matronics Email List Administrator

Is there anyone using a SuperTrapp on their 701? If so which one are you using? I'm looking at the 443-2010, which is 4" dia x 8" long. Sam

    Subject: replacing dry-rotted rubber grommets
    From: "ejessee" <eejessee@us.ibm.com>
Hello again, The builder of my plane used rubber grommet to protect wires and tubing passing through sheet aluminum. In a couple of places, these are dry-rotted and need to be replaced. Does anyone have any experience with some sort of split grommet which would prevent my having to re-wire? -------- Ernest Jessee N4931M Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=274050#274050

Yes- Take a normal rubber grommet, cut a slice clear through one edge wit h an razor blade creating your slit. Install the grommet and rotate it so the slit is either straight up, or 180 degrees away from where the wire might have tension on the grommet. I have done this for years and is sti ll working fine with no problems. The wire does not try to go into the sl it. It is better to use the thicker of the two types of rubber grommets.
