Try using a little penetrating oil and then either wiggle it out like you were doing or us a punch and rap it out if you can figure out a way to get by the flange on the other side. Is this a case of "damn'd if you do, and damn'd if you don't"? If you lock the cap, there are other ways to get the fuel out, remove the lower tank drain, or use the drain?----- punch a hole in the tank ? Some folks are not aware of the stiff penalties of "messing with aircraft", probably a stupid quesiton, but would a warning sign help????? Feed back----- to lock or not lock ???????? Sorry to hear folks are stooping this low. I'd cut it flush with a Dremel tool and that little fiber cutting wheel, then drill it out with a pneumatic right angled drill and put in a new one going right through all layers. If you do enlarge the hole a bit by doing this put in a small doubler plate as a washer. Years ago when I went to build my first airplane another experienced builder told me the number one most important and handy tool to have is a Dremel tool. A couple of airplanes later having worn out 2 or 3 of them I sure agree with him. ----- Original Message ----- From: Carlos Sa To: zenith-list@matronics.com ; zenith701801-list@matronics.com Sent: Thursday, December 10, 2009 9:01 PM Subject: Zenith701801-List: stuck This is embarrassing. I am stuck. Literally. See pictures - this is an A6 pop rivet. It won't budge, in or out. Access from the back is rather difficult, as the rear and front rib are already riveted. The A6 is one of the two last rivets in this station. I can remove the rear rib, but that's my last option - and I still will have a stuck A6 after I remove the rear rib. Suggestions? Hi guys, I'm looking for a best installation of a coolant heater for the cabin. My heat muff works o.k. down to freezing, but I'm looking at components that might offer better cabin warming. Perhaps you Canadians have a list of parts that better describes what you used and how you made connections within the cabin. Even pictures would be nice. Thanks Larry McFarland 601HDS at www.macsmachine.com

I'd-tap or push the nail in, so the bulge in the nail is through the hole , then-grab the body of the rivet with some locking pliers, -and wiggle , twist and pull. So what, destroy the rivet, the hole will need re-drilled -to accept a new A6, but drilling or hammering from the bulge side with the nail in, expands the rivet, and there is a chance of the drill walking. Stubborn little bugger !!! I had to support the back of the spar with a 2x4, then hammer the rivet stem until it got through. Then I pulled it from the back with pliers. The remaining material (rivet less the stem) came out easily by pulling from the from, with pliers. Geez, what an experience ! Thanks to all that provided suggestions. Carlos CH601-HD, plans resuming riveting of centre wing.

Do not archive Hello Ross: Sorry to hear of your problem. Since you speak of fuel in Litres, I's guessing you're in Canada? What do the Autorities say about investigating? Have you considered these: TimberviewT 1.3 MP Digital Game Scouting Camera. A prepared hunter is a successful hunter! Game Scouting Camera, Click to Zoom Get to know the resident whitetails before you step foot in your stand. This 1.3 MP Digital Camera uses an infrared sensor to detect motion and heat up to 30' away and then snaps a clear, digital photo with time, date and photo number stamp to help you keep track of the area's comings and goings. Comes complete with bungee cords and tree peg design for easy mounting. This is just an example, tons of models are available. Others have infra-red flash for at night. Do an internet search for "game scouting cameras" or "trail cameras" They are around everywhere. I'm about to put one up on my garage for reasons similar to yours. I use a heater core out of a mid 80s Subaru. It all aluminum with 3/8" barbed fittings, seems strong and very light. I boxed it in with a 12v computer fan and piping for defrosters. It would be very difficult to take pictures now. Take care, Larry, N1345L
