Tubing It DOES make it easier to come up with the end result which is streamlined struts for efficiency BUT at approx. a 10# penalty over round struts with either the plastic cuffs or bent up .016 alum. "Streamline" and "Zenith 701" in the same sentence?? Possibly there are some surplus airspeed indicators from the SR-71 fleet available...... Make a nice addition to a 701 panel. do not archive Zed/701/912/90%/etc

All, I have seen this part put on 2 different ways. 1 - Between the floor skin and 7F8-1 (Central Floor Stiffener) (as per the assembly guide) 2 - Between the firewall and the floor skin Any advantages to either one? Thanks, Keith

My 4th hand kit was like #2 but I switched it to #1. Two thoughts: 1. the plans (if you look close) and the photo guide show it this way 2. Some piece of sheet metal has to span a gap. I felt it was better to have the stiffener span the gap than the floor. -- Craig _____ From: owner-zenith701801-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-zenith701801-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Keith Ashcraft Sent: Friday, February 12, 2010 11:56 AM Subject: Zenith701801-List: CH701 Part 7F8-4 All, I have seen this part put on 2 different ways. 1 - Between the floor skin and 7F8-1 (Central Floor Stiffener) (as per the assembly guide) 2 - Between the firewall and the floor skin Any advantages to either one? Tubing I intend usingStream line Aluminium struts in my latest build CH701. no weight penalty or the disadvantage of the bent up .016 alum covers my concern with the covers is you can,t see the corosion in the round tube under neath and it does corrode. I had to repaint round struts soon after assembly rust coming through paint. (The were stripped back rust treated and repainted) and now two years later there is again corosion coming through paint. graemecns ----- Original Message ----- From: John Bolding To: zenith701801-list@matronics.com Sent: Saturday, February 13, 2010 12:47 AM Subject: Re: Zenith701801-List: FW: Wicks Aircraft Slashes Prices On Streamline Tubing It DOES make it easier to come up with the end result which is streamlined struts for efficiency BUT at approx. a 10# penalty over round struts with either the plastic cuffs or bent up .016 alum.
