I'm ready to finish up my brake system in my 701 and need to get the right fluid. A quart of aircraft brake fluid, the red stuff, will last for years. You can get it at any aviation supply house or FBO operation. ----- Original Message ----- From: "MacDonald Doug" Sent: Tuesday, February 23, 2010 11:07 AM Subject: Zenith701801-List: 701 brake fluid > > > What are you guys using for brake fluid with the Matco brakes? The MCMC-5 can be used in individual or dual brake applications. Buna-n orings are used in this assembly. Mil-H-5606 aircraft hydraulic fluid or compatible fluids are reccomended. DOT5 may be used but not DOT5.1 which contains glycol. DOT3 and DOT4 may not be used and will cause immediate damage to the seals. David L. They all say its trouble and not to do it, but I have no idea why, though one or two told me and I forget the details. So I've just always used the aircraft spec red stuff that comes in the quart tin cans. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Geoff Heap" Sent: Tuesday, February 23, 2010 4:27 PM Subject: Zenith701801-List: Re: 701 brake fluid > > I have ATF in my lines.
