I live in Southern AZ where the density altitude gets quite high. I have a Rotax
100 HP engine which handles the altitude well. What I noticed about the 701
is at about 9500 MSL the angle of attack gets quite pronounced. I think at that
point the air starts going through the slats which causes quite a drag. My 701
handles the altitude better with the slats removed and vortex generators instead
of slats, considerably less angle of attack up there..

I read earlier threads on the slats vs. vgs and was wondering. Have you
removed the slat brackets or did you not build them when you were building
your wings?
