I live in Southern AZ where the density altitude gets quite high. I have a Rotax 100 HP engine which handles the altitude well. What I noticed about the 701 is at about 9500 MSL the angle of attack gets quite pronounced. I think at that point the air starts going through the slats which causes quite a drag. My 701 handles the altitude better with the slats removed and vortex generators instead of slats, considerably less angle of attack up there.. -------- Ron Lee Tucson, Arizona Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=296737#296737

Ron I read earlier threads on the slats vs. vgs and was wondering. Have you removed the slat brackets or did you not build them when you were building your wings?
