Bob, Not only good, it works amazing. I saw your post the other day and figure I'd give it a try. I've been running my 912 80hp quite a bit working out some bugs before the first flight. The most annoying "bug" is the throttle snapping forward so quickly when the engine was running. I have the stock setup, except I have an ACS friction lock throttle on the pilot side. I left the T handle on the passenger side. I have the friction block installed on the firewall and it was tightened up really tight. It worked fine with the engine off but not while running. When loos ening the friction lock on the throttle, it would creep forward immediatly. With the engine stopped it di d not do this. I bought the spring at Lowes, used 2 hose clamps and a 2" length of 1/4 fu el line(split). Took about a half hour to install. Drilling a hole in a brace I had behind the panel took the longest because it was tight, but it was right there next to the T handle. The spr ing had long hooks at either end, and stretched out to about 6" when adjusted perfectly. It hooks to the back of the panel about 1.5" above and hooks over the fuel line with 2 clamps on it. Move the fuel line back and forth until there is no force in either direction on the throttle then tighten clamps. Throt tle is balanced with the engine turned off and running! So simple but terrific results.Bob, thanks for pos ting this, my left arm especially. It's a simple matter of slowly tightening the ratcheting tie wrap until the right tension is achieved. I've been using it for a couple of years with no problems. It works really well !!! The fix is to install a counter balance spring behind the panel which unloads the spring force from the carb's. With proper adjustment the throttle will not creep and requires very little clamp force on the nylon friction block. One end of the spring is anchored to a small bracket using the same rivets that hold the nylon bearing in the panel. The other end attaches to the throttle rod with a small C-clamp that compresses a short piece of rubber fuel line (split) and is adjusted to load the installed spring so the throttle does not require any force to hold position. It's simple, it's cheap (Lowes has the springs) and if it breaks the worst that can happen is the throttle creeps to full power. This design avoids the Croke effect also.
