yes it will help . if the noise is bad you could also put a cap in the power line
as close to the radio as possible. put one on the (-) side as well.
there has been discussions about a ferrite wrap /clip that is available for in
line filtering.. the lines from the generator to the regulator should be shielded
to ground as well. the antenna wire should have the braided shield up to
and as close to the antenna contact as well. the coax connection on the back of
the radio should be checked for good contact and fit of all wire/shield/outer
covering. an SWR test should be done on the radio/ antenna as well. get it
down to 1:1 anything higher will cause radio static and poor signals incoming
and outgoing. see a radio tech for this test or buy your own SWR bridge from
an electronics store. a useful tool.
