Fred, May I suggest you get rid of that weed-eater fuel line and get some SAE 30R7 rubber line at your local auto supply. The poly line you mentioned degrades fast regardless if it's in the sun or not, just quicker in it. I had it on my Kolb when I first bought it and had nothing but trouble until I finally switched out. -------- Jimmy Young Missouri City, TX Kolb FS II/HKS 700 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=343970#343970 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 04:30:47 AM PST US Subject: Zenith701801-List: Re: Fuel hose problem From: ruruny@aol.com Fred, Thanks for the heads up on this, good it didn't happen in the air. Have any of you had any luck with these? I was talking to a 701 owner the other day who has an EI system and finds it under reading most of the time. I would have thought IE was one of the better systems. Aircraft spruce lists several options starting at about $150 and going well over $1000.00. It has a calibration feature and was not difficult to set. It is deadly accurate and I use it (and trust it) for fuel level. There are also many other uses for fuel flow monitoring. For example, I can tell whether or not the fuel has alcohol in it. My 582 uses about 16.1 litres per hour at 5600 rpm without alcohol and if it is present it will usually be burning about 17.2 litres per hour. I used to check for alcohol but now I don't bother. I have a lot of information on my the MGL but the fuel flow reading is what I look at most often. I wouldn't be without it.
