Early morning is a great time to get things done on your project. I have the basement garage like you do, so my family doesn't always appreciate my air compressor turning on and my drills and cutters winding out. I've had to adjust my schedule to a little later in the morning, or I do more of the quiet work if its too early. Keep at it. Sounds like you are making steady progress Perry.=C2- Keep up the work an d eventually you will have a airplane shaped piece of aluminum to fly.=C2 - It absolutely amazed me as I was in the final stage of my project when my punch list became empty.=C2- I stood there in shock for a few seconds flipping the list back and forth looking for things to cross off.=C2- I t hink=C2-finishing my punch list=C2-was bigger for me than the actual fi rst flight.=C2-=0A=C2-=0AKeep plugging away and you'll eventually get t here too.=0A=C2-=0ADoug M=0ANW Ontario, Canada=0A=C2- =0A=0A___________ _____________________=0A From: Perry Delano <pdelano@telus.net>=0ATo: zenit h701801-list@matronics.com =0ASent: Saturday, May 25, 2013 12:16:26 AM=0ASu bject: Zenith701801-List: Gettin er done=0A =0A=0A=0AI=99ve got the tail feathers 95% done and 80% to go. That stuff is tucked away on a shelf. I have been working on the right wing for about 6 months in spits and star ts and it is about 90% done. =C2-=0A=C2-=0AIf many are like me, finding time to work on the =9Cplane=9D project is the toughest. What I have found works, and I wanted to pass it along, =C2-is setting the ala rm clock for 5 AM or a bit earlier, getting up, pouring a coffee and headin g for the basement garage. =C2-Nobody is interested in my attention at th at time of the morning, not even the dog.=C2- It is surprising how much p rogress you can make in 1 hour or a little bit more per day every day on a 701. Of course you have to get to bed before 10 pm.=0A=C2-=0AWell better get to bed, got to set that alarm clock or maybe not. Found I did not get t he jury strut angles 7-V-10-4SP with my wing kit, or anything else on dwg. 7-V-10. Sent an email to Zenith to see if I should have gotten these parts with the wing kit.=0AI can still rivet on some nose ribs and make a few sma ll holes bigger, then maybe start on the nose ribs for the left wing.=0A=C2 ====

I have only wing tanks.- I have a shutoff valve for each tank.- I never leave both valves open at the same time.- I take off and land on the fullest tank.- I check each tank before flight and use the lowest tank in cruise.- Prior to landing I go to the full tank. As the fuel pickup is in the rear of the tank, it can be uncovered at the pitched down attitude during approach if the tank is near empty.- Also, if I want to carry a heavy passenger, I can use most of- one tank and still have a full tank for flight with the passenger.
