If you look forward to checking your List email everyday (and a lot of you have
written to say that you do!), then you're probably getting at least $20 or $30
worth of Entertainment from the Lists each year. You'd pay twice that for a
subscription to some magazine or even a dinner out. Isn't the List worth at least
that much to you? Wouldn't it be great if you could pay that amount and get
a well-managed media source free of advertising, SPAM, and viruses? Come to
think of it, you do... :-)

Deiterich,
The Carlisle turf glides I used (before switching to better tires)
tended to be out of round or badly balanced and prone to thorns (they
are only 2-ply rated). When I purchased them I would visit the supplier
and roll them to find those that were not too bad.

When I got my CH 701 kit in 2000, they supplied Titan Turf Glide tires
and tubes. Titan quit making these. I found that Carlisle (Summit
Racing supplier) makes a Turf Glide tire with tread exactly like the
Titan=99s. Titans weighed about 6 pounds while the Carlisle weigh
8 pound 11 oz. The Carlisle side walls are much stiffer. I recently
changed out my main gear tires. After a sitting couple of days, the new
tires get a flat spot on the bottom and take a lot of taxiing to get
them round enough to takeoff. I increased the pressure to 20 psi but no
luck. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes I had the exact same issue with the Carlisle turf glides. It got to the
point that I would suspend my mains by putting blocks under the axles.
That was the only way I could keep the flat spots out of the tires. That
was on a taildragger ultralight. I ran out like that until I sold the
airplane. I never did try to remedy the issue with another tire.

*I have the Carlisle tires from Summit Racing and the only problem I had
was with them sealing to the rim. I put a tube in the one tire that
would not seal correctly and have had no further problems. The tubes
are as expensive as the tires tho. I was raised in northern Minnesota
and in the really cold weather I remember the car tires would have a
flat spot until you drove a ways.
