Additionally, the 701 has a max recommended firewall weight of 200 lbs and the O-200 is aroun d 240lbs. Can a O-200 be made to fly a 701? Sure but it is not going to co me close to the performance of a 701 with a 912 installed. If price is a co nsideration, there are good used 912 engines to be found, it just takes a bi t of scrounging.
