Simple explanation would be that 750s are selling like Bob's famous blueberry flap
jack on a Saturday morning at KEOK. Parts like the tanks are cheaper to manufacture
by the dozens. The 801 kits just go out the door in the numbers that
the 750 does and Zenith doesn't have the warehouse space to keep 3 or 4 years
of fuel tank demand on the shelves. They probably only make a couple of 801 sets
at a whack if they aren't special order only. Set up costs+manufacture costs+materials
divided by number made makes 801 tanks cost more.
