| Description: | Engine stuttered during low power descent from cruise. Performed compression check and found #4 at 20/80psi. Air could be heard escaping exhaust pipe. Tried staking, Marvel snake oil in oil and fuel. No joy. Removed cyl and leak checked valves with solvent in exhaust and intake ports. Exhaust valve leaked at 7-11 oclock position next to cyl wall. Intake valve ok. Took Cyl and piston to John Jewell Aircraft, Holly Springs , MS for repair. Exhaust valve stuck in guide and required large hammer and brass punch to remove. New guide installed and valves and seats lapped. Cyl leaked checked sat. Cyl ready to install. Bob and Nancy Hargrave. | ||
