Subject: Pictures for CJ-6'ers Description: Here are three photos that would be great interest to the CJ-6a owners. The first is a recent picture of Bushi Cheng, (age 72) the designer of the CJ-6. The next picture is of the JJ-1 jet trainer, China's first jet design. One prototype was built and is now on display at the Beijing museum. Notice the lines of the tail section. The JJ-1 cruise about M.5. It was designed and built before the CJ-6. The next photo is of the first mock-up of the CJ-6A. Bushi Cheng, 27 years old at the time, is standing nearest the spinner. The Czechoslovakian prop and engine were experimentals that never reached production stage. The CJ-6 ended up with the Russian M-14 (Chinese modified copies) series radial as a result. The Czech engine appears to be a 8 cylinder horizontal opposed. Bushi could not remember the horsepower rating.
