Subject:		Ultra Star Restoration
Description:		About two years ago I acquired this Ultra Star as a basket case. Two years later, taking out eight months for chemo treatments, it is finished and flying. Among the repairs that had to be made were: All the steel rivets, and I do mean all, had to be removed and replaced with stainless because of corrosion of the steel rivets. The fuselage cage was bead blasted, primed and painted. All eleven flying surfaces had to be recovered and for this I used house paint. I installed a fuel tank, fuselage skin and a nose pod w/ windshield. I first flew it about a month ago and it has 6 hours on it now...It is a blast to fly and an excellent performer.
