Subject: Miss America Description: Finished assembling the plane at the painters shop the other day (12/18/01). Here's what it looks like. Craig Roberts did the paint & John Stahr did the nose art. It's ready for the museum err.. Oshkosh!
Miss America has a full VFR panel with a VM-1000 and Apollo GX-65. Engine is an IO-360A1B6D with a Lightspeed electronic ignition on one side. Lycon ported and polished the cylinders. Exhaust is a 4-into-1 stainless steel. Empty weight is 1120 Lbs. Performance is nothing but breathtaking. Solo climb out is close to 3000 fpm. Full out at altitude she'll do 220 MPH. At 210 MPH she burns about 10.5 GPH. Handling is equally spectacular. It's everything and more of what VANS states.
Many thanks go to Chuck Spencer, Bill Firesheets, Craig Roberts, John Stahr, Ed Martinson and Larry Lovisone for their help and encouragement. and especially my wife Nancy. Without her approval none of this would have been possible
