Scott is correct that motorcycle and GA have similar fatality rates. I checked statistics from the NTSB and NHTSA and found that motorcycles are actually a little safer than GA on an hourly basis.

Thanks. Yes, it flies every weekend. There's no impact on trim or handling and the effect on cruise is under 9 knots. It's a small price to pay for the convenience and the time saved on the ground.
