Anyone start their wings yet?

I went to attach the wing spar tip 75W3-2 to the spar, and I have 2 pre-driven rivets in the rivet line where the tip attaches. Do I leave them and rivet the tip as is, warping the tip web, or drill them out and replace them w/ A5's, or do I cut out the tip web at the corner around the rivets so the tip web is flush with the spar web?

A Manual for the wings would certainly make life easier.

Hello Ed.

Semper fi back at you. I was a "Reagan Marine" back in the early 80's.

Please tell me Zenith has done a better job of creating understandable blueprints and builders assistance than what they offered in years past. I was just speaking to another building of a different aircraft few days ago who mentioned a Zenith 750 being built at his airport. The Zenith builder biggest complaint is the blueprints and lack of clear instructions. Has Zenith not offer clear and concise blueprints for builder to follow? I plan on purchasing my kit in February 2009 making sure other builders were not having issues with their building and assembly. Why no plans for the wings?

Ken,

The Wing Manual won’t be completed for ‘several months”. I’m using the 701 manual as a reference…works ok, but not ideal.

Hello Ed...

I was hoping before they made the airplane available, they would have all their ducks in a row. I guess not at this time....I am interested in purchasing the videos from Jon's post. Any thoughts? Split costs?

Bravo 1st marines/2nd battalion weapons platoon; Marine Barracks Pearl Harbor. Ended up as a company clerk while the entire company shipped to Italy. As they said in training.. Yous a Hollywood Marine!

Hey Art.....

Spent a few years in Wichita, KS. Started the company call Wichita O&P center downtown Wichita. I used to go and buy tools from several of the aircraft manufacturers when they had their clearance sales. I hope to fly your way for a weekend of fun!

Oooo Raw!! Will be ordering the 750 kit end of January/February 09

Have finished the right wing except installing the gas tank and tip. The tip fit well before riveting everything. Will install the tip tomorrow but want to run a wire out to the tip in case decide to add lights later. The plans are ok but a manual would be a big help. With the pre-drilled pilot holes, it goes together about like you would figure looking at the plans. The dvd of the 701 is a big help though not exactly like the 750. The 750 wing is easier than the 701 looks on the dvd.

have finished the right wing. Factory says the two rivets at the spar tip need to be removed and redone with A5s when the tip is put on. I also found three rivets missing from one of the vertical doublers...put is A5s myself. all went without problem but need care with the rear strut fitting, rivet it from inside after the trailing edge is half on. They tell me the top root panel is usually put on when the wing is fitted to the plane. You are not to rivet the rib on the bottom behind the front strut fitting. an L piece goes in there later. I think the back two or three rivets are ok to install. It is like the 701 there. Look at the posted detail pictures of the 750.

I'll see if can post some pictures at your web site. Some further comments about the gas tank. I had installed the channel behind the tank and it looked like the tank fit. With the cork on it did not fit until I took out the rivets from the channel to the ribs and leaned the channel back( the bottom was already riveted). Then the tank went in easily and the channel could be riveted back. I have placed a piece of rubber over the gage to insure it does not contact the top skin but it seems to have enough clearance.
