No problem. I will figure it out with the help from Phil Yoder and hopefully Advance.

I believe so, but to be honest, I sold my box shortly after I got the AMOC approved through the FAA. It’s amazing how quickly you forget things that were once committed to memory. I went to look for the docs I submited to the FAA, but I couldn’t quickly find them.

Bob, Checking the Installation manual, it looks like pin 34 is GPS position source RX. Are you able to verify that?

If so, I need to trace that pin back to IFD.

The schematics are well documented in the Navworx manual.

Avidyne IFD 540 with Advanced Flight Systems 5800. I am not sure if GPS position is passed through AFS or not. From my wiring diagram, it would seems so. But setting up NavWorx to IFD is straight forward. The dropdown menuin NavWorx software even names IFD 540.

I am with you; my wiring from Advance is top notch but I have nothing else to go by. Perhaps how the position info is routed to NavWorx might clear up how to go about trouble shooting.

What version Navworx manual do you have?

There are two schematics in the appendix you should look at.   One is for an AFS EFIS and the other is for your IFD.

Depending on the age of the manual, the external gps navigator info may not be there.

It’s a signal that syncs the time of the navigator and the Navworx.   It’s a wire, not a menu choice.

Hi Bob,
I have 2016-2-12.

Just found the Time Mark, Pins 21 and 2 on NavWorx. These two pins are not on my wiring diagram. Hmmm.

HI Jesse,
What is the Time Mark Line? A dropdown setting in NavWorx?

No, it doesn’t go through the AFS for the ADSB function. It needs a dedicated serial out from your IFD. It needs to be set for the correct baud rate and ADSB+. The most common mistake is using ADSB instead of ADSB+ on the Garmin navigators. I do not know if IFD has the same options.

The schematics are well documented in the Navworx manual.

Have you complied with the AMOC yet?

Avidyne IFD 540 with Advanced Flight Systems 5800. I am not sure if GPS position is passed through AFS or not. From my wiring diagram, it would seems so. But setting up NavWorx to IFD is straight forward. The dropdown menuin NavWorx software even names IFD 540.

I am with you; my wiring from Advance is top notch but I have nothing else to go by. Perhaps how the position info is routed to NavWorx might clear up how to go about trouble shooting.

Do not archive.

The correct protocol needs to be set on both your gps and the Navworx box. Wiring is the last thing I’d suspect if it was working prior. The issues Navworx has never had to do with communications between the gps and their box to my knowledge - but getting it set up properly took done work.

What gps are you using?

Hi jesse,

Just installed your box and the issue remains. NavWorx software sez no GPS position. I guess I might have a bad connection; you agree?

Will FedEX your box on Monday. Thank you again for your help.
