Hi folks,
I sent out an e-mail a few weeks ago about planning to do a circumnavigation flight of the continental U.S. THANKS to those of you who responded. I got back some very specific suggestions, and have incorporated them into our route planning.
We'll be flying like ultralight-type E-LSAs: 1000'-1200' AGL, avoiding towered airports, MOAs and congested airspace as much as possible.

I'm feeling good about our route from Oregon south to southern California and then east to Florida. However, trying to figure out how best to fly north along the east coast has me flummoxed.
I would appreciate any suggestions you can give me about how best to fly the east coast from southern Florida up to Maine.
Thanks in advance -
Arty

I learned to fly in Florida, IMO your best bet is to plan a lot of Florida inland a bit. Lots of places you can get to the coast on each side, and are pretty, but some parts are a bit trafficky. Flying down to Key West & back is cool, you'll like that.
The Georgia coast in a lot of places is just marsh, so flying a a bit further inland it's not like you have given up anything, South Carolina is a bit better.
You would be welcome to stop in at my strip and we would be glad to give you a place to stay, but it is not close to the coast and it is only 700' long. (3TN0)
