I fly my KIS out of Sleap and it would be good to meet up sometime.

Chuckle ... not a bad idea John.
Easy enough to hit the road through Bots to have a look at the Glassair in Windhoek (don't get caught speeding though ). It managed to fly there at least, but from what I read the engine was fairly well cooked along the way. You already know how to contact the owner too.
If memory serves he was planning to fly it back to UK this April -- things might have changed since I picked up that snippet of information.

Just spoke to the guy who was looking after the plane in Windhoek and they
have just packed the plane into a container and it left them premises on
Monday to go back to the UK.
According to him, the engine is still perfect - the problems were created by
water in the fuel.

My closest field is Fairoaks, but the plane is still at Dunkeswell where I bought it and am doing conversion training if the weather will give us a chance.
