I have same in my Mooney. It is truly a King KX-170 for tray and pinout.
I have had trouble in the past year with it booting correctly with last
frequencies used. It hangs with a flashing display for 20-30 seconds
usually before stabilizing and allowing use of frequency selector to
bring all back to normal. I assume there is a capacitor that is supposed
to keep enough energy for it to boot correctly. Probably from very
infrequent use of plane over that time.
Other than that glitch, I love the radio and use it over my #2 KX-155.
I should have in the plane the operating manual. Last I heard, I believe
JA Air bought the spares when the company closed, and still services them.
