I just saw that too, Phil.
I am going to have to give mine a good inspection in that area
and see how it looks. I'm sure it's a high stress area even
if you have nice bushings, but bad bushings wouldn't help
it any. I'm not sure what changes were made. as a guess, I'd think
maybe just thicker ears. If someone finds out, maybe post a pic.
And, if anyone finds cracks, post as well please.

issues yet?

I know this area seems to have a lot of play and the bushings are pretty
sloppy.   I had some custom bushings turned to minimize the slop, but it
really didn’t make that much of a difference.    Perhaps the cracks are
caused by an unrelated issue?

Final question.   It sounds like Vans has redesigned the nose gear since
many of us received our kits years ago.  Does anyone know what changes
were made?

Looking at the picture in the SB, it seems the inner ears are thicker (Bolt lenght -1 longer)
Further AN6 Bolt instead AN5 and some NAS washers.

Also, note the lower ears with the WD-1016 attachment.  The extra washers appear to have been removed and what appears to replace them are washers bonded to the bolt attachment ears.
