I have to tip my hat to you.
Last week I went on a flight, and as you know from this thread, I
ordered the shorter door struts. I had searched for hours back when I
did it, and read what other people were suggesting. But, I never
removed my old ones, and compared length. I just had blind trust.
Well, when I went flying, I opened both doors, and looked at them.
I couldn't tell that they weren't normal. I thought to myself,
"They look like they're opening all the way just fine. "
The doors are roughly horizontal when they are fully open. So, I
thought nothing of it. They certainly haven't bothered me any, since
the upgrade. I did it in 1/2023 and haven't even noticed that they
open less far.
But today, a friend installed the same struts I used, and he sent me
pics. indeed, you're right. The new struts I have are indeed shorter,
and, if when he sent a pic of one door with new and one with old struts,
you can see the old ones do lift the outer edge further by a few inches.
I don't think it makes a huge practical difference, especially the
closer to the hinge you are, but you are definitely correct that the
part number I used is shorter and the doors lift a little less high on
the outer edge. I'm nearly 6'2" and yet I didn't notice any
operational difference, so that's good. But, when I order again in
another 13-15 years I'll order the longer ones.
One note about installing them, either way. Mount them with the
pushrod down, when the door is open. If you do that, the new
cylinders have a softer deceleration at the end of the stroke.
Either way the struts are better than the standard ones you get.

Guys: I see that I listed the Bansbauch EasyLift part number wrong. The
correct number is B0N0F50-100-247-600N (only one B and one N). It has
basically the same measurements (rod size, cylinder diameter, etc.
except total length (287 mm for the A1A1 vs 297mm for the B0N0 with the
B1 M8 ends). Van's Strut is 298.5 mm. Door will open the same
distance! # 41087 and 41862 Doc
