				Brian,
Just curious how far along you are toward your
speed modifications to make the Lightning super fast.

   The pitch servo is the
most forward one. As to your right rudder
  situation, that sounds just the
opposite of what I would expect with the colder
  weather and thus better engine
performance and speed. Your 1/2 inch right engine
  offset sounds about right
to me - I assume that is measured at the prop hub.
   Are your rudder cable
tensions the same on both sides? Is there any
  associated roll when you add
  power? I'm stumped.
  Blue Skies,
  Buz

				Charles,
I have done a theoretical drag count reduction. It showed some promising
possibilities. I have taken measurements and will in short order cut out
the gap seals. We've got some pretty high tech equipment that measures a
whole lot of factors that are going to go on in flight. Problem now is that
I'm waiting on the demonstrator to be finished so that I can use it. I'm
using a flight test engineer riding right seat to take down data as well.
Prototype can't have a right seater and I can't rely on any customer to let
it stay long enough to get all the info that I want. There may be some
tests that I have to redo once I start to analyze the data. Demonstrator
is supposed to be done in a week, but since it's not a priority at this
point I'd give it up to a month. I might do a very basic TAS comparison
before and after and do a gap seal only version on the prototype before I do
an in-depth testing. I could publish those results pretty soon. I'm in the
middle of a move to Texas right now though and will be down there for the
next few days. Thanks, Brian W.

				Charles,
I would be interested to see that book. I have not ever had a chance to
read it, but have heard of it. You can pretty much look at an airplane and
see some things that can be cleaned up. Others are a little harder to see
