				Jim,

I have been stalking your Mykitlog site again: http://www.mykitlog.com/pequeajim

  I saw you:

   	  | Quote: | Created battery bracket out of medium gage aluminum
Added a hinge to easily remove battery
Installed new and wider bottom bracket

  | These parts were in my Arion delivery, without the hinge of course.

Did you make a new bracket just to accomodate the hinge?

Why was the new and wider bottom bracket needed?

Your gascolator bracket looks fancier than in the build manual too.

I have started my kit log, although there is not much in it yet. Every time I have a question, I will include the answer for the benefit of future builders!

Don't you wish that Mykitlog would let you zoom in on the photos to see the detail!

Yes, I used slightly heavier gage aluminum to fabricate the clamp that holds the battery in place. I also used a larger piece of angle for the bottom battery bracket, again, because I wanted a little more support. I riveted the one side of the battery clamp and used the same hinge that is used for the elevators. Green Landings had some laying around. I riveted the two pieces to the hinge and now the whole thing swings out easily to remove the battery. In reality, when having to remove the battery, you unscrew two less screws this way, but I was in a creative mood, so I decided to come up with something.

The bracket for the gascolator was fabricated out of something laying around.

Looks like you’re moving along with your project now. Stay with it. I have gone through a couple mood changes as everyone does when building an airplane, but when that engine starts up for the first time, it will all be worth the effort.

As far as zooming in, if you see pictures on my Kitlog site that you would like to have more detail of, just drop me an email and I eill send it to you off the list.

 Cheers
