I have had my gear legs on and off and have a very nice fit. I was wondering at final assembly if some type of lube should be used? The different type of metals between the leg and the mounting hole in the spar box could create some corrosion. Any comments?

I agree with your thinking Tex, although I also think the dissimilar metal corrosion would not be very active provided the area was kept dry.
Due to the close fit, anything as thick as paint would not work. I am sure that WD40 or oil would help, but I wonder for how long?
I might try a product called Waxoyl I used to use to prevent rust on classic cars. Just because I have a tin left over from years ago! When warm/hot, it is fluid, but it cools to a waxy substance.

I use some stuff called PBC, PolyButylCuprosil, or commonly known as
Coppergrease, great for stemming corrosion and to aid stripping down
anything after a period of time. PBC, if you can get it, is entirely
synthetic so it doesn't dry out like Coppergrease does.
