Hi Folks, well after quite awhile of on and off work C-FHUC is in the
air. It is a proud 801 with a Lyc 0-360, autopilot and full IFR with
Grand rapids combo units. First flight was on Monday, with a cowling
repair to follow. A little too much was removed for the ring gear and
during circuits the cowling pulled forward into the prop. Tues saw
another hour and cht's and oil were still a bit high, some small
trimming ( 3 different times) and installation of 35 deg lip got all
temps in range. Wed and thur saw me chasing wires to the magnetometer
and swinging the compass 8 times before I got it to work. Friday was
engine time and the fire sleeved oil lines from the oil cooler were too
close and had to re-routed. But I added another 4 hrs of hobbs time on
Friday. This is the first time this week I have sat on the computer to
catch up on a few E-Mails. It has been a tiring week for up at 5:30 am
and not getting home before midnight every day this week. Now I am
heading out the door again as we have weather coming in this afternoon
at about 2pm and I would like to add another 4 hours to the meter.

All handling of the 801 is excellent, it tracks and curises like a
dream. I have a lot of hours in a 701 and find the 801 everything the
701 is but a lot smoother and stable in the air.

A big congrats to you Mark. My 801 had almost the same teething pains. These things fly soo slowly the air needs some "suggestions" to move properly through and around the plane. Enjoy your new toy..
