Lowell and I are having a differance with our scales. I am using a postal scale that will weight up to 400lbs. It is an electronic unit. I didn't believe what I read on the scales when I weighed the box with Lowells gear in it as he quoted me around 17 lbs. Even including the tare weight of the box it was far below 17 lbs. I figured my scales were screwed up so I took all of the stuff out of the box and put it on the scales and it came up to about 9 1/2 lbs. Again I said this can't be true so I went out to my weight room got a 10 lb weight and put it on the scale. Guess what...10 lbs. Then I put a 20 lb weight on it ....19.8 lbs. So I don't know but I think my scales are close at 9/1/2 lbs.
Anyway, the bush gear is FANTASTIC and I am selling my original gear on EBAY as soon as I get around to it (no way I would go back). I won't be quoting a weight on it and if anyone asks, I will say "ask John"

PS: Lowell is far more methodical than I am. Anyone who can fabricate a gear like this has got to know what he is doing. The workmanship is superb ! Personally I would believe the weight Lowell came up with. I think I will go out and shoot my lying ^$#(at)* ! scales! They have had a grudge against me ever since I bought them. Soon UPS will be at my door wanting more money!

Dick,
I like the difference. As one who has commented often about my frustrations
with manufacturer claims I am happy my weights were on the high side. I am
using a digital hand held fish scale. I will have to try to find a way to
calibrate mine.
