is there anyone in southwestern ontario with intimate knowledge of the cleaning process for carbs on a 912? i am in need of a demonstration. all my research refers to a multitude of parts but not getting a good cross referance to where and what they look like.

I'm on the other end of Lake Erie in Buffalo and do Bing carb work among other things, Rotax. If you don't want to pay someone else to do it, I suggest you purchase the Bing Manual from http://www.bingcarburetor.com/

thanks for the reply. its not the paying part, i have contacted 9 ema mechanics and 2 rotax engine repair shops (snow machine) this week and NO ONE will work on this and i Quote " new fangled" "sisy engine"." "too complicated to learn" " I only work on heavy iron"????. the distance to qualified people is now the issue. the rotax service guys on the other end of this country have no problems and will gladly do the work. i'm guessing 3000miles one way..
I ordered the manuel yesturday but was hoping for someone with hands on experiance.

Dashwood,

You can send your carbs to me and I'll do them but they would probably have some hurdles to jump to get through international customs, both ways. Not sure how that works. I've hand carryied parts across the border and back with declarations at no cost but not sure how it works for mailed or shipped stuff.

If you decide after you get the manual that you still want someone else to do it, I charge $50US per carb for completely disassembling cleaning inspecting everything and re-assembling. If the carb needs new parts such as o-rings or seals, then you pay for those parts at cost. Most mechanically inclined folks who read the manual and work carefully can do the job themselves. If you do it yourself, I highly recommend that you do one carb at a time. Some of the parts are not interchangeable from side to side and you don't want to get them mixed up.
